Oceans of Possibilities

Starfish

For groups of 5 to 150 people

90 minutes

Based on this year's American Library Association summer reading program, Sticks and Tones musicians Henry and  Maria Flurry make music while diving into the geography and life of Earth's oceans!

Attendees are invited to decide the order of songs through an interactive game. Then, using what they've learned during the program, the audience writes and sings an original song (with some help from the musicians, of course) to wrap up the program in a rousing fashion!

Kidz Kompose!

For groups of 4 to 35 people

90 minutes

In one of Sticks and Tones’ most popular programs, Henry and Maria work interactively with groups of students to analyze action film themes through eight different element of music like volume, range, speed and more. Armed with this knowledge, they collectively compose their very own movie music! Participants watch the score evolve and hear immediate playback throughout each stage of the process projected on a screen or large television. Once the music is complete, a lively discussion produces a title! Please note that a projector or screen is needed for this program.

The school can display the score and music on its website to show off the students’ creativity and cleverness.
